Palestinian Nakba Book Display

2015-04-28_1053The Nakba, an Arabic word meaning “catastrophe,” commemorates Palestinians’ displacement from their land both before and after the creation of the State of Israel in 1948. Over a half million Palestinians, many of whom became refugees in neighboring countries, were forced to leave their homes and villages. As the Nakba is remembered on May 15, this display seeks to offer windows into the ongoing human rights situation through a variety of Palestinian and Israeli art, film, memoirs, poetry, photography, and prose.
