How do I find video games and consoles?

All video games and consoles circulate for one week, and can be renewed if no one else is waiting for the item.

To find video games the library owns and lends, do a keyword search in the library catalog on “video games” (include the quotation marks):

On the results screen, limit to format “CD-ROMS/DATA” (you will also retrieve a couple of CD-ROM/Data items that mention video games which are not games, but those are easy to distinguish):

If the game is “Available”, you can use “Request It” to have the video game held for you at the Lending Desk – you will receive an email when it is ready to be picked up.  If it is checked out, then you will be notified that it is ready for pick up after it is returned.

If you retrieve the item yourself, the video games are located in the Video Area on the upper level of the library, along with the DVDs.  All video games are located in the call number area GV1469.35, so feel free to browse the shelves to discover additional video games as well:

Consoles are also available for lending:

Nintendo Wii
Nintendo WiiU
Sony Playstation 3
Sony Playstation 4
Microsoft Xbox 360

To find the console in the library catalog, do a keyword search on the name of the console:

If “Available,” use “Request It” so that the item will be held for you, or ask at the Lending Desk about checking it out.
