Fall 2020 Stress Relief!

Stress relief in the time of COVID-19 looks very different. Health Promotion and University Libraries have provided the End of Quarter Stress Relief event every Wednesday of Week 10. This year, we still have planned ways to relax and practice self-care during finals, all virtually! Read more for virtual event details happening on Wednesday, November 18. If you can’t make it to our virtual stress relief events, scroll down to find resources that you can use on your own time whenever you need a break.

Each event will take place over Zoom.

Coloring Postcards

Do you like getting mail? We do too. Sign up here to receive a hand written postcard from the library with a coloring page on it! Join us during the Arts and Crafts session to color with your classmates.

Arts and Crafts: 12-1pm

Making things with your hands can be a great way to unwind during busy times. Bring your coloring postcards or anything else that you want to create and chat with others. We will also learn how to make origami and zines, so bring a piece of paper that can transform! Any arts and crafts are welcome, so if you like to paint, draw, collage, or create in other ways, please bring them along.

Denver Pet Partners Virtual Visit: 1-2pm

How will we have therapy dogs, you ask? Never fear! We will bring therapy dog teams to you through Zoom where you can chat with the handlers and watch them being cute. We also encourage everyone to bring their own pets to the room! If your own animal friends are around, show them off to your fellow classmates during the zoom session.

Gratitude Workshop: 4-5pm

“Thank you”—you’ve probably said and heard these two simple words countless times. Yet, have you considered how gratitude benefits yourself and others beyond the expected courtesy? In this interactive workshop you’ll learn about gratitude, how practicing and expressing it supports our own well-being and others, and simple techniques you can use to cultivate gratitude and its benefits.

Guided Yoga Session: 6-7pm

Grab your yoga mat, light some candles, and Zoom in to join a sustainable candlelight yoga class led by the Center for Sustainability members and Thrive Peer Educators!

Mental Health Trivia: 7:30-8:30pm

Take a break from studying with some mental health trivia! Join the Thrive Peer Educators for a game of Jeopardy where you can team up with your friends and test your mental health knowledge! Winning team members get prizes!
